Valentine Road Apartments achieved Platinum GreenPoint Rated certification by transforming a former 142-room motel into 134 studio units of permanent supportive housing through California’s Homekey program. Led by the Housing Authority of the City of San Buenaventura, the development combines adaptive reuse and energy-efficient upgrades with on-site supportive services, including case management and behavioral health resources, to help residents transition to long-term stability.

As Ventura County’s largest Homekey project, it demonstrates how sustainable rehabilitation can pair environmental performance with meaningful social impact, offering a scalable model for converting underutilized properties into resilient, service-enriched housing.
